You'll find yourself on Melcombe Street, just north of Marylebone High Street, walking into the kind of place that doesn't need to shout about itself. Wood-panelled walls, proper linen, waiters who know their stuff—this is old-school brasserie done right, not some Instagram-baiting pastiche. The menu sticks to the classics because they work: think confit duck, sole meunière, steak frites. Prices are remarkably fair for the neighbourhood (mains around £18-28), and they clearly give a damn about execution rather than cutting corners. It's the sort of restaurant where you can bring someone's parents and everyone leaves happy, or just rock up solo and feel completely welcome at the bar.
