You walk into Fire Station and immediately get why it's been packed since day one—it's got that rare London thing where it feels both confident and genuinely welcoming. The space itself is clever: industrial bones (you can't miss the firehouse heritage) softened with warm lighting and actual comfortable seating, which sounds obvious until you realise how many bars in SE1 get that balance completely wrong. The cocktail list reads like someone who actually drinks knows what they're doing, and the staff won't make you feel like an idiot for ordering a simple gin and tonic. It's busy most nights but never feels overcrowded, and whether you're here for a post-work drink or settling in for the evening, there's a genuine sense that everyone's having a good time rather than performing one.
