Gordos Pizzeria

You're walking down Kingsland Road in Dalston and you catch the smell of wood smoke before you even spot the place. Gordos is exactly what East London pizza should be: unfussy, unpretentious, and genuinely excellent. The pizzas arrive properly blistered with char, the bases actually have structure (no floppy nonsense), and they're not charging you the earth for it. It's the kind of spot you go to with mates on a Friday night, order too much, and somehow don't regret it. Service is brisk rather than fawning, which somehow makes it better.
