Granary Square Brasserie

Proper brasserie cooking in King's Cross with a buzzy courtyard overlooking the canal. British classics done well.

You're walking into one of King's Cross's best-kept spots—a sprawling brasserie that's somehow managed to feel both neighbourhood local and proper destination restaurant. The dining room's got that warm, lived-in feel of somewhere that actually cares about the details: good lighting, proper napery, staff who know what they're doing. The real draw is the courtyard, especially come summer, where you can watch the Regent's Canal life happen whilst eating proper British food. Nothing fancy or trying too hard—just confident cooking of things like beef Wellington, fresh fish, seasonal vegetables done right. It's the kind of place you'd take your parents, your mates, someone you're trying to impress. Three quid a pint? No. But worth the expense account sit-down.
