Grind at Waterloo
Proper coffee and brunch spot buried in Waterloo Station that doesn't feel like an airport café. Actually good.

You're rushing for a train, or maybe you've just arrived in London and need immediate caffeine. Either way, you find yourself at Grind, and suddenly you're not in a hurry anymore. The space has that industrial-cool vibe you'd expect from a station venue, but it's done without trying too hard—exposed brick, decent lighting, the kind of place where people actually want to sit rather than bolt. The coffee's the real draw here; they take it seriously enough that it tastes like someone cared. Pair it with their brunch menu and you've got something that actually justifies loitering around SE1 for longer than the Circle Line requires.
