Kona Kai

Walk into Kona Kai and you've left southwest London behind for something altogether warmer. This is where Fulham comes to drink something that doesn't taste like a Negroni, though they'll make you one if you ask nicely. The room has that lived-in tropical bar feel—rattan, warm lighting, the kind of place where your mate suddenly suggests another round at 11pm and nobody questions it. Staff actually know what they're doing with rum, which matters when half the menu leans into Caribbean and Pacific island cocktails. It's unpretentious enough that you don't feel overdressed in jeans, but competent enough that you're not settling.
