You'll find yourself on Slingsby Place, tucked into Covent Garden's maze of theatres and tourists, but Lahpet feels like a proper neighbourhood spot. The menu reads like a love letter to Burmese food: fermented tea leaf salads with roasted peanuts and fried garlic, aromatic curries that build slowly on your palate, and noodle dishes that actually justify the queue. It's casual enough that you won't feel out of place in jeans, but the cooking's serious enough to make you come back specifically for it, not just because you're in the area.
