Lamb Tavern

You're walking through Leadenhall Market on a lunchtime and suddenly the 14th-century covered arcade opens up into this Georgian pub that feels like it's been here forever—because it basically has. The Lamb is one of those places that somehow manages to be both touristy and genuinely local, packed with office workers grabbing a quick pint and proper food that doesn't pretend to be anything it's not. Think classic British fare: pies, fish and chips, a decent burger. The inside is all wood panelling and brass fixtures, all character and no Instagram theatre. It's the kind of place where you can actually hear yourself talk, though it gets properly rammed come Friday evening.
