Passyunk Avenue brings proper Philadelphia energy—the kind of place where the roast pork sandwich is taken seriously, where they're not mucking about with irony or unnecessary tweaks. The room itself is confident rather than fussy: wood-heavy, warm lighting, the sort of vibe that makes you want to settle in for hours. It's the kind of restaurant that shouldn't work in W8 but absolutely does, because the food is genuinely excellent and the staff actually seem to enjoy being there.
