Malaysian roti and curries done seriously well, tucked into the Battersea Power Station development with proper technique and flavour.

You're walking through the converted power station in Nine Elms, and suddenly you catch the smell of ghee and charred dough – that's your cue to head in. Roti King does what it says on the tin: their roti canai arrives at your table still warm, the layers separating perfectly, ready for dunking into rich, properly spiced curries. The Malaysian menu moves beyond the obvious curry-house hits, and they actually care about getting the fundamentals right, which is rarer than it should be. It's casual enough that you won't feel out of place in your weekend gear, but the food's serious enough that you'll come back deliberately.
