Walk into Sohaila and you're immediately hit with the smell of charcoal and fresh herbs. It's the kind of place where locals actually want to eat, not just photograph—stripped-back dining room, friendly enough staff, and food that tastes like someone who knows what they're doing is in the kitchen. The mezze spread is where you should start: hummus that's proper silky, fattoush that hasn't been sitting around, kibbeh that's crisp on the outside. They do chargrilled lamb and chicken that's got real char on it, the kind you can taste. It's become a proper favourite along this stretch of Shoreditch, which says something.
