Spread Eagle

Walk down Albert Street and you'll find yourself in a proper neighbourhood boozer that hasn't been Instagram-ed to death. The Spread Eagle does what pubs do best: it gets out of the way and lets you get on with your pint. Dark wood, sticky floors (in that authentic way), and the kind of clientele that actually lives nearby rather than just passing through. There's real ale on tap, decent food that won't break the bank, and enough character to remind you why pubs matter. It's the sort of place where regulars know the bar staff's name and tourists accidentally stumble in wondering if they've found something special. Spoiler: they have.
