Walk down to Albert Embankment and you'll spot this one immediately: a converted Dutch barge permanently moored on the Thames, looking properly lived-in and nothing like the polish of the surrounding South Bank. You're drinking on a boat, essentially, with low ceilings, wonky angles, and a genuine neighbourhood feel that's rarer than it should be in SE1. The crowd's a brilliant mix—locals from Vauxhall, tourists who've stumbled off the beaten path, and people who've made it their regular precisely because it refuses to play ball with trend-chasing. Food's hearty and honest rather than showboating; the beer selection's solid; and watching the river traffic while nursing a pint is genuinely peaceful.
