Walk down Gower Place just off the Tottenham Court Road drag and you'll find yourself in what feels like a proper local, except it's technically part of UCL's student union. That said, it's not some exclusive members-only affair—plenty of locals and non-students drift in because the drinks are reasonably priced and the vibe is genuinely unpretentious. You get the buzz of a busy pub without the tourist trappings or the price tags of nearby Bloomsbury spots. It's the kind of place where you can nurse a pint, have an actual conversation, and not feel like you need to be studying a dissertation to belong there.
