You head down into this place on Upper Street in Islington and it immediately feels like a proper night out—the kind where you're not paying £18 for a cocktail that tastes like sadness. The Ladybird does the classics well, keeps things lively without being aggressively themed, and doesn't pretend to be something it's not. It's the sort of spot you end up at with mates on a Friday, grab a drink at the bar, and suddenly it's midnight and everyone's in a good mood. Later on it transforms into a club, so you can dance if the mood takes you, or just lean against the bar and watch the room.
