Walking into The Waiting Room on Deptford High Street, you're immediately struck by how unpretentious it all is—which, frankly, is rarer than it should be. The coffee's genuinely excellent (they clearly know what they're doing with their beans), and the brunch menu hits that sweet spot between proper and unfussy. There's a real neighbourhood feel here; locals pop in for their morning fix, groups linger over eggs on toast, and it never tips into that try-hard territory that plagues so many London coffee bars. The space has character without being Instagram-obvious about it.
