Troubadour

You walk into Troubadour and immediately feel like you've stumbled into someone's well-loved local—the kind of place where regulars have their favourite tables and the staff actually remember what you drank last time. It's all wood panelling, warm lighting, and that particular smell of a restaurant that's genuinely been around long enough to have earned its worn edges. The menu reads like a greatest hits of British cooking: proper pies, decent steaks, fish and chips that don't pretend to be anything fancy. There's nothing Instagram-baity about it, and that's precisely the point. You're here because the food is solid, the prices won't make you wince (it's a proper ££ situation), and you can actually hear yourself talk.
