You walk onto Hoxton Square and there's Young Nola, looking like it's wandered straight out of the French Quarter but somehow belongs here. Inside feels warm and lived-in—exposed brick, dim lighting, the kind of place where you can hear conversations happening rather than being shouted over. The menu reads like someone's actually spent time in Louisiana: proper seafood gumbo, crawfish étouffée, beignets that are properly crisp and pillowy, not the Instagram-bait nonsense you get elsewhere. Their cocktails lean into the classics—sazeracs, hurricanes—made with enough respect for the source material that you're not getting some overwrought interpretation. It's become exactly the sort of spot you'd recommend to mates without worrying they'll think you're trying too hard.
