You know those times when you fancy something spicy and vibrant but can't be bothered with the lottery of finding a decent independent? That's when Las Iguanas on Deansgate proves its worth. The flame-grilled chicken actually tastes like it's been near fire, the sharing platters are generous enough to justify the £££, and their mojitos don't make you wince. The Deansgate spot gets properly busy on weekends – book ahead or you'll be hovering by the bar watching other people eat nachos. It's not trying to be authentic street food, and that's fine by me. Sometimes you just want reliable Latin-ish flavours, decent cocktails, and a table you can actually get.
