You're walking into one of those rare spots in Media City that feels like it belongs in the neighbourhood rather than just existing because of the postcodes and office workers nearby. Nell's does the whole wood-fired thing without the pretension—the pizzas are properly made, with the kind of char and leoparding you want, but the room itself is refreshingly unpretentious. It's the sort of place where you can rock up solo for a drink and pizza at the counter, or book in with mates and actually hear each other talk. The setting's industrial in that very Salford way—all exposed brick and stripped-back design—but it works, and it doesn't feel like someone's trying too hard.
