You walk into Malmaison and suddenly you're in a different world—high ceilings, Georgian bones, the kind of space that makes you straighten up a bit. This is where Northern Wine School does its thing: they're serious about wine without being wanky about it, which is refreshing round here. You can rock up for a casual glass and chat with staff who genuinely know their stuff, or book yourself onto one of their classes if you want to stop nodding along and actually understand what's happening in your glass. The whole operation feels like it's run by people who actually drink wine and want to share that rather than gatekeep it.
