The Garratt

Proper cocktail bar on Princess Street serving well-made drinks without the pretension that plagues Manchester's city centre.

You walk into The Garratt and immediately feel the effort—dim lighting that actually works, wood everywhere, and staff who know what they're doing behind the bar. It's the kind of place where cocktails arrive looking like they mean something, but nobody's going to lecture you about provenance whilst pouring. Princess Street's got a bit of life to it these days, and this sits nicely among the independent places that actually give a toss. The crowd's mixed enough that you won't feel out of place whether you're there for a Tuesday wind-down or Saturday night proper.
