The Head of Steam Manchester NQ
Serious craft beer spot in NQ with a proper selection and the kind of no-nonsense atmosphere where locals actually want to spend time.
casualrelaxedindustriallivelypub
You're walking into Newton Street in the Northern Quarter and pushing through the door of a pub that doesn't pretend to be anything it's not. The Head of Steam is all exposed brick, dim lighting, and the sort of crowd that knows their IPA from their lager—without being insufferable about it. The bar's strength is its beer list; they rotate regularly and actually know what they're talking about. It's the place you bring mates who are into proper beer, or where you go when you're sick of the same five lagers everywhere else. Food-wise, it's what you'd expect from a proper pub, nothing fancy but decent enough to soak up a few pints.
