The Jubilee

Walk into The Jubilee and you'll clock straightaway it's the kind of pub that knows its regulars by name. The place has that easy, lived-in feel — wooden bar, no-nonsense décor, the sort of spot where people actually linger over a pint rather than Instagram it. Gosforth's got plenty of options these days, but this one's stayed the course by doing the fundamentals right: decent ales on tap, proper pub food that doesn't pretend to be anything fancier than it is, and staff who actually seem pleased you've turned up. It's the type of neighbourhood anchor that's increasingly rare in Newcastle.
