You'll find this brilliant bakery-café tucked away on The Close, just a stone's throw from Norwich Cathedral. The setting feels almost ecclesiastical – fitting, given you're practically in the cathedral's shadow – with high ceilings and that particular kind of calm that comes from being surrounded by centuries of history.
The sourdough here is genuinely outstanding, with a proper crust that crackles when you break it open. Their pastries are equally impressive, from flaky croissants to seasonal fruit tarts that change with what's good. The coffee's excellent too, and the staff know their stuff. It's the sort of place where you pop in for a quick flat white and end up staying for an hour, watching cathedral visitors wander past while you work through a slice of their frankly addictive banana bread.
