Head out to Yarmouth Road and you'll find Oak doing exactly what a neighbourhood bar should—serving decent drinks without any pretension. The terrace is where it's at on decent evenings, giving you that rare thing in Norwich: actual outside space to settle into with a pint or something more interesting. Inside it's roomy and relaxed, the sort of place where you can have a proper conversation without shouting, which already puts it ahead of half the city centre. People genuinely seem to enjoy themselves here, and that matters more than any décor trick.
