You'll find yourself on Upper Parliament Street's buzzing strip, but this isn't your typical Friday night cattle market. The sound system here actually does justice to whatever the DJ's spinning, and speaking of DJs – they seem to understand that good music doesn't start and end with the same tired commercial bangers you'll hear everywhere else. The crowd skews younger but not exclusively student territory, with a proper mix of people who've clearly come to dance rather than stand around posing with overpriced bottles. The layout works well enough that you can actually move between the bar and dance floor without feeling like you're in a rugby scrum, which is more than you can say for most places on this stretch.
