Sailor Restaurant

You're sitting on the Corran Esplanade watching the water, nursing a drink whilst the light does that thing it does on the west coast—lingering, golden, impossible. Sailor is the restaurant half of the Muthu Alexandra Hotel, and it's got that comfortable, slightly formal thing going on that works when you're after something proper but not stuffy. The kitchen leans on what's actually swimming about in the Firth, which means the specials board actually means something here. It's the kind of place you'd bring your parents or take someone on a proper date, not somewhere you'd rock up in muddy hiking boots, but also not somewhere you feel like you need to wear a blazer.
