You'd expect another soulless chain plonked between the shops on George Street, but this GBK actually gets it right. The booths have proper padding, the lighting doesn't make you look ill, and crucially, they haven't skimped on the beef. Their burgers arrive thick and pink (if you ask nicely), with buns that don't disintegrate the moment you pick them up.
The sweet potato fries are genuinely crispy rather than soggy orange sticks, and they do a decent line in chicken options if red meat isn't your thing. It's not revolutionary cooking, but when you're dodging tourists near the Covered Market and fancy something more substantial than a Pret sandwich, this does the job without the guilt of proper fast food.
