The Perch

Riverside dining in a converted pub where the Thames views steal the show and the food actually justifies the journey out to Binsey.

You'll need to venture northwest out of the city centre, past Port Meadow and into the quiet village of Binsey, but that's rather the point. The Perch sits right on the water's edge—genuinely, you could drop a stone into the Thames from the terrace—and it's transformed itself from a proper local boozer into something altogether more polished without losing its soul. Inside feels intimate and unhurried, all exposed beams and thoughtful touches. Outside, in warmer months especially, you're basically floating. The menu leans modern British with seasonal intelligence, and while it's not cheap, you're paying for location, execution, and the rare Oxford experience of feeling genuinely removed from everything else.
