You're sitting on the terrace at Thornbridge Hall, water lapping at the edges, Peak District hills rising beyond the trees. Quackers isn't trying to be anything other than what it is: a proper neighbourhood café that happens to occupy one of the most pleasant spots around Ashford in the Water. The coffee's genuinely good (not that tired Nespresso nonsense), cakes are made with actual care, and the sort of people who work here actually want you to have a nice time. It's family-friendly without being chaotic, and locals will tell you it's worth the trip whether you're coming for a proper browse around Thornbridge Hall or just fancying an excuse to sit by the water.
