The Beehive Inn - Penrith

Head out towards Eamont Bridge and you'll find yourself in one of those pubs that actually feels like it belongs to Penrith rather than some chain trying to look quaint. The Beehive does what it does—serves good beer, decent grub, and gives you the kind of atmosphere where you can sit for hours nursing a pint without anyone making you feel rushed. It's the sort of place where regulars have their spots and newcomers still feel welcome, which is harder to find than you'd think these days. The food won't reinvent the wheel, but it's solid and reasonably priced, and the fact that nearly a thousand people have bothered to rate it speaks volumes.
