Turkish Kitchen
This New Road Turkish spot serves proper döner and grills with zero pretence — just good, honest food done right.

You'll walk past Turkish Kitchen on New Road dozens of times before realising it's exactly what you've been craving. The unassuming frontage gives nothing away, but step inside and you're greeted by the smell of proper charcoal-grilled meat and the sight of a döner spinning away like it should.
The mixed grill is a thing of beauty — lamb chops that actually taste of lamb, chicken that hasn't been massacred by marinade, and chips that manage to be both crispy and fluffy. Their döner meat comes carved thick rather than shaved to death, and the bread is baked fresh rather than warmed from frozen. It's Turkish comfort food without the Instagram nonsense, served by people who clearly know what they're doing.
