You'll find Revolution tucked into the city centre, and while it's part of a chain, this Plymouth outpost has enough personality to make you forget you're not in an independent. The wine list is surprisingly decent – they've clearly put thought into their selection rather than just stocking the usual suspects. The cocktails are where they really shine though, with bartenders who actually know what they're doing behind the bar. The space feels more upmarket than your typical chain venue, with dark wood and industrial touches that work well for both after-work drinks and weekend nights out. It gets properly busy on weekends, but the staff handle the crowds well. At around £8-12 for cocktails and £6-9 for wine, it's not cheap, but you're paying for decent quality and a polished experience that many Plymouth bars struggle to match.
