The Barbican Kitchen
Proper restaurant tucked inside a working distillery, serving excellent seasonal food in candlelit Georgian rooms.

You're walking down Southside Street in the Barbican when you slip through the doors of Black Friars Distillery and suddenly everything feels different—candlelight, exposed stone, the smell of gin production humming away somewhere nearby. The Barbican Kitchen occupies these gorgeous converted monastery spaces, and there's something about eating here that makes you feel like you're in on something special. The menu changes regularly and takes itself seriously without being pretentious; they're doing proper cooking with quality ingredients, and the fact it's all happening inside an actual distillery just makes it better.
