You wouldn't normally write home about hotel restaurant food, but the dining room at this Gunwharf Quays spot manages to be more than just adequate. The location is bang on – you're right by the water with the Spinnaker Tower looming overhead, and it's properly handy if you're doing the shopping centre or heading to a Pompey match. The menu doesn't try to be fancy, which works in its favour. Decent British classics done well, proper breakfast that'll set you up for the day, and evening meals that won't leave you reaching for your phone to find somewhere better. Staff are sound, portions are generous, and the whole thing feels less corporate than you'd expect. It's become a reliable option when everywhere else in Gunwharf is rammed or you just want something straightforward without the faff.
