You'll find Secret Alley doing exactly what it says on the tin — it's properly hidden, but once you're in, you'll wonder why you haven't been sooner. The vibe is relaxed and unpretentious; the kind of place where regulars actually chat to staff and mean it. The kitchen clearly knows what it's doing, turning out solid dishes that don't try too hard but taste like someone actually cares. It's the sort of neighbourhood restaurant Cosham deserves, and frankly, the kind more of Portsmouth could use.
