The carved beef, turkey, and gammon are decent quality, but it's really about loading your plate with proper roasted potatoes, cauliflower cheese, and as many Yorkshire puddings as you can manage without looking completely greedy. The staff are sound – they know exactly how much meat you want when you hover indecisively at the counter, and they're not stingy with the gravy. Yes, it's a chain, but when you want a proper roast dinner without the Sunday prep faff or the gastropub prices, this does exactly what it says on the tin. Plus you can rock up at 2pm on a Tuesday and still get the full works.
