Las Iguanas - Reading

You know the drill with The Oracle - it's hardly Reading's most inspiring dining destination. But Las Iguanas manages to rise above the usual chain mediocrity with genuinely decent Latin American food and a terrace that makes the most of those Kennet views. The jerk chicken actually has some heat to it, and their cocktails aren't the syrupy disasters you'd expect from a shopping centre restaurant. Sure, it's still a chain, but when you're craving something with a bit of spice and don't fancy the trek into town proper, this does the job nicely. The weekend brunch is particularly solid, and the staff seem to actually care about what they're serving. Plus, parking's sorted if you're driving in from the suburbs.
