Medieval timber-framed pub serving proper British food on Minster Street. The real deal—no gimmicks, just excellent cooking and serious ales.

You'll find yourself on one of Salisbury's most characterful stretches, where The Haunch sits in a building that actually remembers the Middle Ages. Step inside and there's dark wood, low ceilings, and that particular smell of old pubs that's equal parts history and good ale. The kitchen takes British food seriously—proper pies, seasonal game when it's about, and the kind of dishes that make you understand why gastropubs became a thing in the first place. It's unpretentious but nowhere near careless, which is exactly what Salisbury needs.
