The Ship

Head down Falsgrave Road and you'll find yourself in the sort of pub that doesn't need to try too hard. The Ship's the kind of place where you can spend an afternoon nursing a bitter and nobody minds, or roll in at 8pm with mates ready for a proper night out. The crowd's mixed—locals from the surrounding streets mixing with people who've deliberately sought it out because they're after something genuine rather than gastropub theatre. You'll get decent food without the faffing about, drink's reasonably priced, and there's usually something happening, whether that's live music, a quiz night, or just the warm hum of actual conversation.
