Head down to Sharrow and you'll find Handaran tucked away on Ecclesall Road — a proper neighbourhood bakery that does things properly. The smell alone will stop you in your tracks: warm, yeasty, the kind that makes you abandon your to-do list. You're getting Persian flatbreads with actual char on them, pastries that taste like someone's nan actually made them in a kitchen that cares, not a factory in Milton Keynes. It's the sort of place where regulars come in by name and everyone else quickly becomes a regular.
