This Turkish takeaway has quietly built up a proper following amongst night shift workers, students, and anyone else who needs feeding at ungodly hours. The mixed grill is absolutely massive – easily enough for two people if you're not completely starving. Their lamb shish is properly seasoned and charred just right, whilst the chicken döner actually tastes like chicken rather than mystery meat. The chips are decent too, which matters more than it should. At around £8-12 for most mains, it's fair value for the portions you get. Sure, it's not winning any interior design awards, but when you're after a proper feed at 1am on a Tuesday, Zarkas delivers exactly what you need.
