You climb the stairs past the cathedral shop and suddenly you're in this airy room with stone walls and views straight onto Cathedral Green. It's the kind of place where locals actually spend their Saturday mornings, not tourists just ticking boxes. The cakes are genuinely good—not the mass-produced stuff—and the coffee's solid enough to justify sitting for an hour with a book. There's something rather lovely about eating a slice of lemon drizzle while looking out at one of England's greatest buildings.
