You're walking down Lake Road in Bowness and suddenly you're sat outside with actual space around you, which feels revolutionary round here. The garden's genuinely nice without being try-hard about it, and on a decent day you can proper relax instead of being wedged shoulder-to-shoulder with other tourists. Inside it's a traditional pub done right—the kind of place where locals actually mix with visitors without it feeling awkward. Food's solid and reasonably priced for the location, drinks list won't win any awards but that's not really the point.
