The breakfast menu runs all day from 8am, which is brilliant if you're after a proper full English at half past two in the afternoon – and at these prices, why wouldn't you? The usual Spoons formula applies: cheap drinks, massive portions, and that particular atmosphere where office workers nursing hangovers sit alongside pensioners reading the paper over a coffee. It's nothing fancy, but it does exactly what it says on the tin. The building itself has character in spades, and the location makes it handy for popping in after wandering around the city centre. Yes, it's a chain, but sometimes you just want a reliable pint of bitter for under three quid and a curry club meal that won't break the bank.
