Kardomah Cafe
A legendary Swansea café name revived in the heart of the city centre, serving proper Welsh hospitality with excellent coffee and homemade treats.

You'll find this reincarnation of Swansea's most famous café name tucked into the Morris Buildings on Portland Street, right in the thick of the city centre's hustle. The original Kardomah was where Dylan Thomas and his literary mates used to hold court back in the day, and while this isn't that same venue, it carries the torch with genuine warmth and proper attention to what makes a good local café tick.
The coffee's consistently excellent, the cakes are made on-site rather than shipped in from some industrial estate, and the staff actually seem pleased to see you. It's the sort of place where regulars have their usual table and newcomers are made to feel like they've stumbled onto something special. Open Tuesday to Saturday until half three, so don't leave it too late for your caffeine fix.
