You'll find this tucked away on Herriot Way, doing the kind of authentic Kashmiri food that puts most other Indian restaurants in Wakefield to shame. The kitchen knows its way around proper regional spicing – none of that generic curry powder nonsense – and the lamb dishes are particularly outstanding. The dining room feels warmly traditional without being over the top, and service strikes that sweet spot between attentive and giving you space to enjoy your meal. At around £15-20 per head for a proper feast, it's decent value for cooking this careful. Sunday lunch service is a nice touch too, perfect for when you fancy something more interesting than a roast.
