This sprawling Wetherspoons sits bang in the middle of Wakefield's main shopping stretch, making it the obvious pit stop when you're hauling bags around town or need somewhere reliable to meet mates. The building itself has character, with those titular chimneys giving it a bit of Victorian grandeur that Spoons hasn't managed to completely corporate away. You'll find the usual suspects on the menu - think fish and chips, curry club, and breakfast served until noon - all at prices that won't make your wallet weep. It's not going to win any culinary awards, but the pints are well-kept and the staff know their way around the pumps.
